Fixing Hairlines in Acrobat
The Fix Hairlines feature in Acrobat has a simple but useful function. It searches for thin lines within PDF files and replaces them with thicker lines based on your preferences. This helps to solve the problem of thin lines printing incorrectly. To use this tool:
- Open Acrobat and go to Advanced > Print Production > Fix Hairlines
- For the first dropdown box choose how thin a line has to be to be replaced.
- For the Replace option, type the new thickness of your lines.
- Next, choose All Pages and click OK
- I would recommend leaving the Type3 font’s box unchecked. Type3 fonts may have thin lines, but don’t always look correct if replaced with thicker lines.

Happy Halloween everyone!
